Something To Think About…..

“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing... read more

Uh-oh: Obamacare is COLLAPSING all Across the Country… Told ya.

At this point, there is no way around that ugly truth and October has been a brutal month for the failed legislation that has missed the mark in almost every area. 80,000 Colorado residents will be losing their health insurance thanks to Obamacare and on top of that, the Obamacare exchange in New York is falling apart not only because of lack of money, but due to some serious corruption as well. Two weeks ago it was reported that in what at the time was still a rather isolated incident, Colorado’s largest nonprofit health insurer (aka co-op), Colorado HealthOP is abruptly shutting down, forcing 80,000 Coloradans to find a new insurer for 2016. At the time, the health insurer had been decertified by the Division of Insurance as an eligible insurance company because the cooperative relied on federal support, and federal authorities announced last month they wouldn’t be able to pay most of what they owed in a program designed to help health insurance co-ops get established. In other words, one of the 24 co-ops funded with Federal dollars and created to give more policyholders control over their insurers – especially those who wished to stay away from various corporate offerings, had failed simply because the government was unable to subsidize it: the same government that spends $35 billion in global economic “aid” but can’t support its most important welfare program. Fast forward to today, when we learn that another co-op, this time New York’s Health Republic Insurance – the largest of the nonprofit cooperatives created under the Affordable Care Act – is not only shuttering, but was engaging in fraud. Today we learn that not only was this largest Co-op insolvent, it had also committed fraud. The collapsing insurance company that is creating headaches for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, misled state and federal officials about its finances, and will not be able to remain in business through the end of the year as originally hoped. Because incompetence is one thing, but corruption: now that’s real government work, right there. This law has quickly become even worse than we feared, and that’s saying a lot because people who have been paying attention knew it was going to be really bad. Not only do we currently lack the money to pay for Obamacare, but the people in charge have been misleading (aka lying) federal officials about the program’s finances. These state exchanges are failing at an unbelievable rate.... read more

Let’s set the record straight… the Debt Ceiling Doesn’t Matter

The Debt Ceiling Doesn’t Matter. Period! Large numbers of very intelligent and very well paid people have been thinking about what happens if and when the US meets the debt ceiling and cannot therefore, legally at least, borrow any more money. Politicians are also thinking about this too. The reason is of course that the Federal government spends more each year than it takes in in taxes: thus the debt itself is continually growing. The current national debt amount surpasses the $18 trillion debt ceiling they are trying to sell to the American people. In reality, the US federal government owes over $82 trillion, but our officials continue to report that the national debt is only at $18 trillion. And how do they manage to get away with it? By hiding outstanding liabilities from its reporting. The debt ceiling debate should start with a reform on how officials calculate the national debt? We can only keep using complicated bookkeeping maneuvers, or extraordinary measures, to acquire funds to meet its existing obligations for so long. Which by the way… those obligations include Social Security and Medicare benefits, military salaries, interest on the national debt and more. Understand the we have raised the debt ceiling a total of 79 times. And the debt ceiling addresses debt, not spending Keep in mind though… anything that we do is just an extraordinary measure to bide for more time. A total collapse is coming. Common Core Rant

I just CAN’T. I can’t sit back any longer and say nothing. I can’t not call out the complete insanity of this Common Core Math. Please explain to me in what CRAZY, BACKWARDS, MAKE BELIEVE WORLD this makes any sense? Look at the math problem below and keep reading. Math is FACT! Fact is 103 – 28 is ACTUALLY 75. As in actually, factually and yes, reasonably. In this scary world of FAKE MATH, 75 is not the correct answer?! In order for the answer to be REASONABLE, we need to estimate and come up with the WRONG answer?!?! WTF? This math belongs in the world of unicorns and leprechauns. Not in the real world… where numbers matter! Think about it These are our future doctors that will be prescribing “reasonable” doses of medication, future architects that will design on “reasonable” measurements, and future engineers that will build on “reasonable” plans! Exact answer are ALWAYS better that estimation. So we penalize for exact answers. This is exactly why our country is losing so much ground on so many levels. Home school is NOT starting to look so bad right about now. But a serious change in our education system is absolutely necessary. We cannot build a future on this kind of thinking. The Real Truth About Our Education System

Let’s talk about education. In most Western countries, school is compulsory and state-enforced. Truancy can result in fines or even jail time for parents. This isn’t just a result of state coercion. On a cultural level, education holds a sacred status much like that of religion. It’s an institution that most never question, and that’s a problem. Did you ever wonder how it is that kids spend 13 years from kindergarten to high school supposedly being prepared for life yet when they get out, they don’t have any real skills? 13 years and kids aren’t taught how to grow a garden, how to build a house, how to fix a car, how to balance a checkbook, or how to cook a healthy meal. 13 years and kids come out without even rudimentary concepts of how to organize or lead groups of people. Without even a glimmer of understanding of how to resolve conflicts nonviolently. And we call this an education? Yes, we’re taught how to read and write and to perform some basic math. But we aren’t taught how to think for ourselves. We aren’t taught the principles of logic or how to question an ideology. What we are taught is how to sit in a desk and listen obediently as the world is packaged into a neat little box that we are to accept without question. We’re taught to regurgitate that information for tests, to give the answer that those in authority demand, but most of all, we’re conditioned to conform. And the reward for faithfully jumping through all of these hoops for 13 years is a worthless piece of paper that no employer even asks to see. Kids exit high school barely qualified to flip burgers at McDonald’s. And even for that, they have to be trained. 13 years is a long time. That’s most of our childhood. To have this much time taken by force with such pathetic results is unacceptable. The problem here isn’t a lack of funding. The problem here isn’t poorly trained teachers, lax regulations, or low quality curriculum. The problem is our entire educational paradigm. The system isn’t designed to prepare children for the real world. It’s designed to format their minds and condition them for a life of subservience. It’s designed to create a population of individuals just smart enough to fill out paperwork and punch a time card but too stupid to question the system itself or the authority of... read more
