Merck Has Some Explaining To Do Over Its MMR Vaccination Claims

Merck is currently facing serious allegations in regards to the efficacy of its MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine. The claims are put forth by two former Merck scientists-turned-whistleblowers, Stephen Krahling and Joan Wlochowski, who filed a False Claims Act complaint in 2010, along with a senior Centre for Disease Control (CDC) scientist by the name William Thompson. The complaint claim that they “witnessed firsthand the improper testing and data falsification in which Merck engaged to artificially inflate the vaccine’s efficacy findings.” According to the court documents Merck’s misconduct is occurring in many different ways including: Failed to disclose that its mumps vaccine was not as effective as Merck represented Manipulated testing methodology Abandoned undesirable test results Falsified test data Failed to adequately investigate and report the diminished efficacy of its mumps vaccine Falsely verified that each manufacturing lot of mumps vaccine would be as effective as identified in the labeling Falsely certified the accuracy of applications filed with the FDA Falsely certified compliance with the terms of the (Centre for Disease Control) CDC purchase contract Mislabeled, misbranded and falsely certified its mumps vaccine and The suit also alleges: “As the single largest purchaser of childhood vaccines (accounting for more than 50 percent of all vaccine purchasers), the United States is by far the largest financial victim of Merck’s fraud. But the ultimate victims here are the millions of children who every year are being injected with a mumps vaccine that is not providing them with any level of protection against mumps. Merck’s Dismissal Attempt Denied. U.S. District judge threw out Merck’s dismissal attempts earlier this month, which means that this pharmaceutical giant will have to defend itself in at least two Federal court cases. Something To Consider These whistleblowers gave up everything to share this information – their jobs, their credibility, and their reputation. What would they have to gain from falsifying any of this information? They were directly involved in this cover-up and decided to speak out and share the truth. I think it is very important that we pay attention to what they are trying to say. When you really think about it, these are some pretty serious allegations put forth by former Merck and CDC employees, and this is some pretty big news. Why isn’t this information being reported in mainstream news? The media seems to hold a very one-sided view of vaccinations and they aren’t interested in reporting anything that may appear to delegitimize their efficacy. Not only that, it’s clear that with actions such as this, one of the main focuses for these companies is profit. They will take profit over making an effective vaccine and that’s exactly what they have done here. So is it possible that they could also sway data and life about the true dangers of a vaccine just as they did with how effective it is? Not About “Pro” or “Anti” Anything, It’s About Information It is important that we look at both sides of the vaccine story. You do not need to be “pro” or “anti” anything, we... read more

Civil Disobedience

While having a perfect law enforcement sounds great, who keeps government in check? It is true that governments do not reform themselves. It requires the people, activism and organizing to preserve our rights. And damn the American people if we ever forget it. When we look back on history, the progress of Western civilization and human rights is actually founded on the violation of law. America was of course born out of a violent revolution that was an outrageous treason against the crown and established order of the day. History shows that the righting of historical wrongs is often born from acts of unrepentant criminality. Slavery. The protection of persecuted Jews. But even on less extremist topics, we can find similar examples. How about the prohibition of alcohol? Gay marriage? Marijuana? Traffic and parking tickets? “Where would we be today if the government, enjoying powers of perfect surveillance and enforcement, had—entirely within the law—rounded up, imprisoned, and shamed all of these lawbreakers? Civil Disobedience! Ultimately, if people lose their willingness to recognize that there are times in our history when legality becomes distinct from morality, we aren’t just giving up power and control of our rights to government, but our agency in determining their futures. Governments today are power hungry machines and they ignore their citizens’ problems and instead control their citizens’ behavior. How do we combat this? We need to remove any interference in our elected leaders enforcement our rights and liberties. You can see this dynamic today in the statements of government officials complaining about the adoption of encryption by major technology providers. The idea here isn’t to fling ourselves into anarchy and do away with government, but to remind the government that there must always be a balance of power between the governing and the governed, and that as the progress of science increasingly empowers communities and individuals, there will be more and more areas of our lives where—if government insists on behaving poorly and with a callous disregard for the citizen—we can find ways to reduce or remove their powers on a new—and permanent—basis. Our rights are not granted by governments. They are inherent to our nature. But it’s entirely the opposite for governments: their privileges are precisely equal to only those which we suffer them to enjoy. We haven’t had to think about that much in the last few decades because quality of life has been increasing across almost all measures in a significant way, and that has led to a comfortable complacency. But here and there throughout history, we’ll occasionally come across these periods where governments think more about what they ‘can’ do rather than what they ‘should’ do, and what is lawful will become increasingly distinct from what is moral. In such times, we’d do well to remember that at the end of the day, the law doesn’t defend us; we defend the law. And when it becomes contrary to our morals, we have both the right and the responsibility to rebalance it toward just ends. “Those who profess to favor freedom,... read more

Yes, Your Samsung Smart TV Does Listen To Your Private Conversations

The revelation that Samsung’s Smart TV can and will listen to your conversations, and will share the details with a third party is just more proof we are ignorant about what is going on around us. Yes, you read that right. Samsung’s Smart TV can will listen to your conversations. Here’s the actual language from the privacy policy itself: Voice Recognition: You can control your SmartTV, and use many of its features, with voice commands. If you enable Voice Recognition, you can interact with your Smart TV using your voice. To provide you the Voice Recognition feature, some voice commands may be transmitted (along with information about your device, including device identifiers) to a third-party service that converts speech to text or to the extent necessary to provide the Voice Recognition features to you. In addition, Samsung may collect and your device may capture voice commands and associated texts so that we can provide you with Voice Recognition features and evaluate and improve the features. Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition. This is direct from Samsungs privacy policy and can be viewed here… While the privacy policy statement is disturbing in its own right, the extent of how crazy it is has to do with the fact that this information will be shared with a “third party.” This begs the question, who is this third party? You should have concerns. First, this seems very vulnerabal to hackers. So even if we can be assured that Samsung and the third party isn’t up to anything sneaky, is the entire process secure enough to protect ourselves from hackers, or an intelligence agency like the NSA? I have my doubts. Beyond this, there is an equally important concern regarding how this trend might progress into the future, and how it will future erode personal privacy if we don’t address it now. Take Facebook for example. In its early days it was a seemingly benign, efficient and enjoyable way to stay in touch with friends and reconnect with old ones. It lured in over a billion users and then essentially decided to turn on all of them without really ever letting anyone know in order to make an incredible amount of money. Although it might be completely innocent right now, that in no way, shape or form means it will remain that way. In fact, once everyone is hooked on SmartTVs and forgets about this whole hubbub, these companies could eagerly turn around and sell all of your private conversation details to advertisers or worse be used against you. Eminent Domain – Are You Awake Yet?

Sometimes we need to put things in perspective. We need to leave our egos and opinions at the door and start understanding what is really at stake here. Maybe you never heard of Eminent Domain. If you every had anything taken away from you by government, you’ve experienced it first hand. “None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe The 14th Amendment in 1868 granted the US government eminent domain power to expropriate private property in the name of the “public good.” There’s also the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) which wields enormous zoning and regulatory power, as well as school and property taxes, and environmental considerations which take precedence over private property and individual rights. You don’t pay your property taxes? The government takes your house. So is it really your house to begin with? Also, FEMA can seize your property during “emergencies.” Furthermore, think civil forfeiture laws and what the US government can seize in the name of the “War on Crime.” It may also be taken for reasons of public safety. Fight “The Man” on any of the above and “The Man” wins. If the government wants your property, it will find a way to get it. Also, remember the government owns over 600 million acres across the 50 states. Just ask Cliven Bundy. What we find misleading it that government and states own NOTHING! The citizen (tax payers) own it all. Our government does not own a thing. The government has detonated hundreds of nuclear bombs in Nevada, killed untold millions of kids and innocent people in its endless wars and they say Cliven Bundy’s cattle could be harmful to the desert tortoise. Are the Common Core Standards a Good Idea? You Be The Judge.

45 states and the District of Columbia have already adopted the Common Core State Standards for their public schools, a set of common curriculum guidelines promoted by the National Governors Association and the Obama administration. The standards, which are for math and language arts, are meant to “provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them.” Take a look at the video below. You tell me how well Common Core works. This is what is being taught to our children. This is a decision your government made without consulting you or getting your consent. We will be writing more about Common Core in our newsletters here is why we think its a bad idea. It’s was forced down our throats by cover of darkness, we had no say in the decision process and it was developed by lobbyists. The Common Core was developed in a private meeting by a non-governmental body. It was written behind closed doors by NGA Center and CCSSO. Who are they you ask? They are lobbyist groups. And guess what… they own common core. This is in their public license agreement… “NGA Center/CCSSO shall be acknowledged as the sole owners and developers of the Common Core state Standards, and no claims to the contrary shall be made.” The thing that should scare you most about these groups is that they are unaccountable to you and I. No one can touch them. The curriculum being taught in our schools is owned by these lobbyists. Once Common Core was built, States were then encouraged to adopt the standards in an Department of Education grant competition that was part of the 2009 stimulus bill. Oh wait… you didn’t know that? And now that the secretive, top-down, elite-driven education reform was thrust onto unsuspecting students, parents and teachers, American taxpayers will wonder why they are being asked to pay for what is turning out to be an extremely expensive project with most of the benefits going to a few large companies. The larger question that should be asked, then, is — why should they get to decide education policy for the nation? What qualifications do they have? Those involved in writing the Common Core have a particular view of education. It is their view of how children should educated, but it is not a view shared by educators, parents and education professors. So if educators, parents and education professors don’t like it, WHY WAS IT IMPLEMENTED AND BEING USED NOW? And why such rapid transformation of common core into our schools? Did you know that Common Core is already part of the SATs? Why is their secrecy from government and refusal to talk about it? Americans hold certain expectations of how education should be reformed — with parent and teacher input; through deliberation (both talking and listening) and democratic processes; and through trial, error and re-reforms at the local and state level. Common Core did none of those things and that is why... read more

Cops Turn Off Dashcam. Why?

An unarmed 18 year old, Cortez Bufford, found himself pulled over by police in St. Louis for allegedly making an illegal u-turn. This is the treatment he received.. Watch the video below… The police originally charged Cortez Bufford with a bizarre lengthy list of crimes that were later dropped… They said that Bufford was a suspect in a local shooting; that he had marijuana on him; that he had an illegal gun; and that he assaulted officers and resisted arrest. Curiously enough there was no drugs or guns found. oh yeah, and there was that illegal u-turn as well. Police dropped all charges. At about the 6:00 mark in the video, officer force Bufford out of his vehicle and begin beating him, tasering him and yelling that he should “remain still” and “stop resisting” all the while. He is never resisting. By 7:51 in the video, Officer Kelli Swinton approaches fellow officer Burkemper’s patrol car, as she loudly yells: “Hold up. Hold up, y’all. Hold up. Hold up, everybody, hold up. We’re red right now, so if you guys are worried about cameras, just wait.” That’s when the audio cuts out, and the video abruptly ends only eight seconds later. Bufford’s lawyers say that their client was brutally beaten once all of the cameras were off. Dropping the charges against Bufford was part of that. They have been hoping that this would all just go away, and indeed, for a while, it seemed that the events surrounding the shooting death of Michael Brown and the Ferguson protests were going to help them keep this buried. But now the videos are seeing the light of day, and it’s up to all of us to help spread the word so this ends up as headline news! Are you awake Yet? So You Think Military Intervention is a Good Idea?

Well, if you really feel that strongly about it… Here’s your rifle.. Here’s your parachute.. Here’s your camo.. … and watch your head climbing into that transport plane. And we’ll call whoever it is you are telling us needs to be invaded this week and tell them you are on your way to kick their butts all by yourself. But given the very long history of the United States government and the corporate media lying and tricking us into wars, are you sure you want to go? And just in case you in the dark and are not as well educated in history, here is just a few of how many times “We The People” have been made total fools of by the US Government and the corporate media. Pearl Harbor: FDR claimed Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack. It wasn’t. The United States saw war with Japan as the means to get into war with Germany, which Americans opposed. So Roosevelt needed Japan to appear to strike first. Following an 8-step plan devised by the Office of Naval Intelligence, Roosevelt intentionally provoked Japan into the attack. Contrary to the official story, the Japanese fleet did not maintain radio silence, but sent messages intercepted and decoded by US intercept stations. Tricked by the lie of a surprise attack, Americans marched off to war. Documents declassified in 1994 revealed that Roosevelt spent 1941 following an 8 step plan to provoke Japan crafted by ONI Lt. Cmdr. Arthur H. McCollum, as a back door to war against Nazi Germany. Vietnam: President Johnson lied about the Gulf of Tonkin to send Americans off to fight in Vietnam. On August 4th, 1964, an inexperienced sonar operator on the USS Maddox, rattled by an encounter with North Vietnamese patrol boats trying to keep US ships out of their territorial waters just two days previously, picked up the sounds of his own ship’s screws and mistakenly interpreted them as incoming torpedoes. Although the Captain of the Maddox immediately reported the error up the chain of command, the initial report of an attack garnered headlines which President Johnson used to goad Congress into escalating the Vietnam War. 9-11: As for 9-11, there is ample evidence of deception. Here are just two out of many. The official report released to the public does not mention WTC building 7 at all, which although not hit by an airplane, collapsed into its own footprint just like a controlled demolition. There are surviving videos that actually captured it. Given that no steel-framed building had ever collapsed from fire prior to 9-11, how is it that Rudy Giuliani was warned to move his emergency staff out of the building because it was going to collapse? It’s worth noting that prior to 9-11 and since, no steel-framed building ever totally collapsed from a fire, and because WTC Building 7 contained Federal Government offices and documents that were under investigation, it was built to much higher standards than the normal building codes in New York. So why and how did it fall? Then... read more

Shoveling Snow Is A Crime Unless You Have Permission

One evening last month, the night before a blizzard that threatened the Northeast with a lot of bluster, two young men in central New Jersey decided to take action. Armed with about 100 fliers, Two 18 seniors at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, went door to door in Bridgewater and then headed to Bound Brook, a neighboring town of about 10,000, to offer snow-shoveling services for a reasonable price the following day. After handing out about 40 fliers with their names and cellphone numbers, around 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 27, the two teenagers were stopped by police officers. They were told that soliciting without a permit was “technically illegal” according to a town ordinance, and they were also violating the town’s travel ban. Travel ban? Wait… what? Solicitation permits (permission) in the town can cost up to $200, and are valid for a year. Nonprofit groups are exempt from the fee but still have to apply for a permit before going door to door. The ordinance does not apply to political campaigns. How convenient! The officers told the snow shovelers to go home because the roads were not safe and said the teenagers could come back the next day if their services had been requested. Are you kidding me? Our generation does nothing but complain about his generation being lazy and not working for their money, Here’s a couple kids who take the time to print up flyers, walk door to door in the snow and then shovel snow for some spending money. And someone calls the cops and they’re told to stop?” People have been shoveling snow for their neighbors for decades, if not a few hundred years. A law like this just shows how overbearing government can be. This is the world we live in people. Your free as long as you follow the program and get permission first. Are you awake Yet?
