How would you like to live in a country….

How would you like to live in a country that tortures prisoners? That conducts warrantless searches of its citizens and has Immunity from judicial review? That reads your residents’ e-mail and monitors their phone conversations? That executes its own citizens without trial? That murders innocent people in foreign countries on a regular basis? Whose government manipulates courts and other legal processes to ensure that banking, Wall Street, and government criminals are never held to account, while its citizens are punished for “brutal” crimes like “burnt out license plate lights” or “driving without a seat belt”?

Oh wait… you already do live in that country.

We don’t like writing about this subject. We are all Americans. But we are appalled at what our country has become and we refuse to keep “going along to get along”.

And as we have often expressed, we are utterly frustrated both by the bipartisan nature of this assault on our liberty, as well as by the ways in which the media obscures this fact via its constant focus on the Republican vs. Democrat crap they ram down our throats. This party affiliation has only divided us. With all that has happened do we actually believe either one of these parties has our backs?

Dishonesty and tyranny from government is nothing new for Americans. The real question is whether we are going to continue lying to ourselves about it.

And although we are deeply suspect of the opinions foreigners and of global bureaucrats, we have to agree with them … America has lost its bearings and must be held to account.

The question is… What are we going to have to sacrifice and at what price?
