Reality Check: The Middle East was better off with Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi in power.

Was the Middle East better off with Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi in power? This is a Reality Check you won’t see anywhere else. We wonder why? We’ve seen a consistent mistake in foreign policy, we’ve seen Democrats and a lot of establishment Republicans in Washington get involved in toppling Middle Eastern governments, and it ends up benefiting no one. Except for radical Islamic terrorists. American intervention since the start of the Iraq war has led from one disaster to another. Was the world in fact a better place the middle east a better place when Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein was in power and when Assad wasn’t fighting for his life in Syria? The Middle East was without question a safer and more secure place under Gaddafi, Hussein and when Assad wasn’t fighting for his life. But to really get that point, here are some things to consider. In reports from our own U.S. government, reports of deaths from terrorism in the Middle East between 2002 and 2014 have increased 4,500 percent. But lets go a little deeper. Take for instance just the country of Iraq. Before the 2003 U.S. invasion, do you know how many suicide attacks there were in Iraq? None. In the country’s history there had never been one. But since the 2003 invasion, there have been 1,892. In Iraq, prior to the start of the Iraq war, there were reportedly just over 1.5 million Christians living in that country. And yet shortly after the war started, more than one million of them fled to Syria. That didn’t work out well. Today fewer than a quarter million Christians remain and yet are being exterminated by groups like ISIS. And what about Afghanistan? Just last year alone, insurgents killed 2,643 civilians last year—the highest number since U.N. records began. How about Pakistan? In the 14 years prior to 9/11 there was one suicide attack on Pakistani soil. In the 14 years since, there have been 486 suicide attacks. The same is true in the past 14 years in Somalia (88), Yemen (85), Libya (29), Nigeria (91), and Syria (165). So what you need to know is that 14 years after this so-called war on terror began, the United States is on track to have spent $13 trillion on just the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. To put that into perspective, that means we have spent $145,000 per American household. And most of it was borrowed money... read more

The Truth About 9/11 Just Won’t Die

The conspiracy theories started flying just days after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, DC. Over the decade since, several claims have been refined by the “9/11 Truth” movement. Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of September 11 was the rapid destruction of both 110-story Twin Towers: after the collapses began due to cascading structural failures at the airplane impact locations, each tower fell completely in just fifteen to twenty seconds. Now there is a video (see below) of some guy trying to disprove the conspiracy of 9/11 and in my opinion ends up being the biggest moron on the Internet. This guy has conducted a highly scientific experiment, that, in his mind, clearly shows how jet fuel can bend steel and therefore this debunks the conspiracy theories that suggest jet fuel alone could not have possible brought down the Twin Towers on 9/11. I have many problems with this video, not least because it literally proves nothing, is a complete waste of his time and everyone else’s, and has succeeded only in melting the last few remaining brain cells left in his empty skull coming up with this ridiculous “de-bunking”. Firstly, comparing 1/2 inch steel bars with the 87 feet by 133 feet steel core structures, as big as buses, that were covered in tonnes of concrete and fireproofed, is so ludicrous and un-scientific that he immediately lost my respect in his argument. I stuck with him though for the purposes of this blog, where he then continues to lambast everyone by calling them an “idiot” for even daring to suggest that jet fuel did not cause the WTC to fall that day. Ouch.. He conveniently seems to have forgotten that the WTC’s fell at free fall speed, so even if we were to take him and his silly outfit seriously and indeed jet fuel did weaken the steel, the building would have tilted and bent as he suggests in the video. Not fall straight down at the same speed it would take to drop a penny off the roof of the building. Then we come to the greatest fail, when he goes over to a roaring furnace, not an actual replication of a jet fuel fire obviously, that would be too scientific. The camera cuts over to the furnace where we conveniently don’t get to see how long the steel bar has been in the furnace being subject to constant direct heat, and... read more

America’s Conundrum

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing. Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America today 1. America is capitalist and greedy – yet half of the population (49%) is subsidized. 2. Half of the population is subsidized – yet they think they are victims. 3. They think they are victims – yet their representatives, for whom they vote, run the government. 4. Their representatives run the government – yet the poor keep getting poorer. 5. The poor keep getting poorer – yet they have things for which people in other countries can only dream of possessing. 6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about – yet they want America to be more like those other countries and to use them as a model. Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century. Makes you wonder who is doing the math. These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment. 1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works. And here’s another one worth considering… 2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What’s interesting is the first group “worked for” their money, but the second didn’t. Think about it….. and Last but not least… 3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and reducing the size of our army (too expensive to maintain), but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens, or cutting federal aid to foreign countries. Am I the only one missing... read more

Something To Think About…..

“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing... read more

Uh-oh: Obamacare is COLLAPSING all Across the Country… Told ya.

At this point, there is no way around that ugly truth and October has been a brutal month for the failed legislation that has missed the mark in almost every area. 80,000 Colorado residents will be losing their health insurance thanks to Obamacare and on top of that, the Obamacare exchange in New York is falling apart not only because of lack of money, but due to some serious corruption as well. Two weeks ago it was reported that in what at the time was still a rather isolated incident, Colorado’s largest nonprofit health insurer (aka co-op), Colorado HealthOP is abruptly shutting down, forcing 80,000 Coloradans to find a new insurer for 2016. At the time, the health insurer had been decertified by the Division of Insurance as an eligible insurance company because the cooperative relied on federal support, and federal authorities announced last month they wouldn’t be able to pay most of what they owed in a program designed to help health insurance co-ops get established. In other words, one of the 24 co-ops funded with Federal dollars and created to give more policyholders control over their insurers – especially those who wished to stay away from various corporate offerings, had failed simply because the government was unable to subsidize it: the same government that spends $35 billion in global economic “aid” but can’t support its most important welfare program. Fast forward to today, when we learn that another co-op, this time New York’s Health Republic Insurance – the largest of the nonprofit cooperatives created under the Affordable Care Act – is not only shuttering, but was engaging in fraud. Today we learn that not only was this largest Co-op insolvent, it had also committed fraud. The collapsing insurance company that is creating headaches for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers, misled state and federal officials about its finances, and will not be able to remain in business through the end of the year as originally hoped. Because incompetence is one thing, but corruption: now that’s real government work, right there. This law has quickly become even worse than we feared, and that’s saying a lot because people who have been paying attention knew it was going to be really bad. Not only do we currently lack the money to pay for Obamacare, but the people in charge have been misleading (aka lying) federal officials about the program’s finances. These state exchanges are failing at an unbelievable rate.... read more
